Computational Structure & Galaxy Formation
Simulating the Universe
The Computational Structure and Galaxy Formation group at the MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics & Space Research is led by Mark Vogelsberger. The group aims to produce predictive models of galaxy and structure formation throughout the history of the Universe, through projects like Illustris/TNG, THESAN, and ETHOS.
The group both uses the outputs of these simulations to understand observations, as well as develops novel numerical techniques to explore novel physics.
